Fun fact
You know what far-right political beliefs are? I'll tell you what far-right political beliefs are. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what far-right political beliefs are. What do you mean they scream on the radio? They don't have a father around to tell them, "Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot."

My friends with autistic kids are pissed. I'm right there with 'em.

And yet, I don't support the people calling for his job. I'd much rather keep him on the air and mock him.

The problem is that, while we mock, there are people out there who hear him but not the mocking. Of course, taking him off the air is probably attacking the symptom and not the disease.

People have the right to express their opinions, even if they happen to be asses or be wrong. We have the corresponding right to ignore them, shun them or berate them. Demanding that their free speech be throttled isn't one of the legitimate choices, though.

While I agree that muzzling him is a distasteful option, I also see no reason to give him a megaphone, or to hold blameless those who do. Therefore, I see no problem with people compiling a list of his advertisers, and using that list when deciding which large company's products to buy or not buy. Also, to save everyone time, I see no problem with individuals (or groups of individuals) informing his advertisers how their continued financial support of Mike Savage will influence potential consumers' buying decisions.

If Mike Savage wishes to pay for airtime out of his own pocket, then by all means he's free to do so. However, this whole news kerfuffle only matters because large corporations are willing to fund his airtime. They are willing to do so because they believe that this is a good use of their advertising budget. I don't see the free speech concerns in disabusing those advertisers of this notion.

What dtm said, roughly. Freedom of speech means that the government can't take any actions against him, and I'm fine with that. But part of our right to ignore them is the radio station's right to do so as well, and I wish they would.

You know what's funny? Watching the jackassess at WND try to attack Media Matters without defending Savage. Although I like their constant use of the verb "explains" in an attempt to give credibility to MS's defense.

Try to be serious, Lance. Any horse can learn calculus. My comments about quadrupedality were meant to boldly awaken pet owners to the veterinary community’s attempt to label too many pets as "quadrupedal." My mongoose died in a snake pit of... well, a snake pit, so I know first hand what quadrupedality is.

my initial reaction was, 'Why is the guy who writes a sex column talking about this? Oh, MICHAEL Savage.'

I'm not too informed on radio's talking heads. Looks like I'm not missing much BUT I have to agree with VC, the dude has the right to say what he wants to. And those who disagree or are offended/outraged have the right to hit him where it hurts, in his pocket via his ad revenue.
